Milan ready to sell Tomori to Juventus to reinvest the funds in Walker, a striker, and another central defender

AC Milan is prepared to part ways with Fikayo Tomori, allowing the English defender to join Juventus. The proceeds from his transfer would not only be used to pursue Kyle Walker but, more importantly, to secure a reliable striker and another central defender. Additionally, Milan is contemplating reinforcements in midfield, as Ismaël Bennacer struggles with fitness, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek—though highly regarded by manager Conceição—has been plagued by injuries this season, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.

The defeat in Turin has amplified the need for action in the transfer market. Milan's immediate priority is to "fix" a league standing that, after this weekend, could jeopardize their chances of qualifying for the next Champions League. Conceição has made his expectations clear:

"Of course, I’d like more reinforcements. We’re in talks with the management."

Zlatan Ibrahimović echoed this sentiment on DAZN:

"The management knows what is needed and is working on it."

However, the time for action is running short.

Green light to Juventus

In the coming hours, today or tomorrow, significant progress is expected on Tomori’s transfer to Juventus under coach Thiago Motta. Juventus wants a loan with an obligation to buy for €25 million plus bonuses. Milan, however, demands that the total figure reaches €30 million with "easily achievable" bonuses. The Rossoneri leadership has already decided to sell the former Chelsea defender. Before Milan's recent match, Ibrahimović stated:

"He’s our player and doing well at Milan. Conceição likes him a lot."

Fikayo Tomori, who is content in Milan, must also approve the transfer, which could be a potential hurdle. Nonetheless, recent comments from his friend Pierre Kalulu, who moved from Milan to Juventus in the summer—could influence him:

"I’m happy I came to Juventus. I spoke with Tomori after the match, but he was upset about the loss and didn’t say much. We won a Scudetto together, and it’s always a pleasure to see him. Decisions in football are personal, and it’s up to him."

Walker within 48 hours

Kyle Walker is in talks with Manchester City to secure his move to Milan. Through his representatives, he has reaffirmed his intention to leave Manchester. After today’s match against Ipswich, Walker is expected to push Guardiola for final approval. He aims to be in Milan by tomorrow evening and could undergo medicals on Tuesday. Ibrahimović supports the move, saying:

"Walker is strong, a leader, and commands the locker room."

Although he won’t be eligible for the Champions League until the next phase, Walker is expected to debut on Sunday at San Siro against Parma. To facilitate the transfer, Walker is willing to forgo nearly €1 million of his salary until June if City doesn’t provide a severance package. The deal will likely be a paid loan (€1 million) with a buy option (€5 million).

Whether Walker stays beyond June will depend on his performance. Though signed primarily as a right-back, he could also serve as a central defender in a back four—a role not entirely suited to him.

Another central defender

Milan does not plan to rely solely on Thiaw, Gabbia, Pavlovic, and Walker in defense. The club's ideal target is Antonio Silva from Benfica. They prefer a loan with an option to buy, but Benfica—having set a €100 million release clause—has already rejected Juventus’ €5 million loan plus €30 million purchase offer. Despite Silva’s agent being Jorge Mendes, the deal remains complex.

Ibrahimović and sporting director Geoffrey Moncada are exploring options for a quick defender who fits Conceição’s system. However, the main focus remains the attack, where funds from Tomori’s sale are expected to be invested.

Milan target João Félix

Conceição is a known admirer of João Félix, having specifically requested him. Milan is exploring a loan with an option to buy, though Chelsea, who paid €52 million for Félix last summer, may be reluctant to accept such terms. Félix remains a key target. Meanwhile, Everton’s Beto, formerly of Udinese, has been offered to Milan but hasn’t convinced the management.
