After being eliminated from the Champions League, Milan needed an immediate reaction in the league. Instead, last night at Torino's home, the Rossoneri suffered another heavy blow, risking falling even further from fourth place if Juventus wins against Cagliari today. And Sergio Conceição is in even more trouble because his future on Milan’s bench is known to be tied to qualification for the next Champions League.

This was reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, which recalls that at the end of the season, the club has the option to terminate the Portuguese coach’s contract early by paying a penalty. The club has reiterated in recent days that finishing in the top four is too important a goal for Milan, both from a sporting and financial perspective. After the defeat against Torino, Ibrahimovic, Furlani, and Moncada spoke with Conceição to analyze the negative moment and reaffirmed their trust in the Rossoneri coach, placing the responsibility for poor results on the players rather than the coach.

Milan's boss, Conceicao, does not give up...

Now, two crucial direct clashes in the Champions League race are coming up, which Milan cannot afford to get wrong. On Thursday, they will play the rescheduled match away at Bologna, which was postponed due to bad weather, while on Sunday, Lazio—currently fourth—will arrive at San Siro (pending tonight's Juventus result, which could overtake them and move eight points clear of Milan). Despite the difficult moment, Conceição remains determined and has no intention of giving up:

"I want to say this from the heart—it’s not over. We are here, strong, and all together we want to work until the end of the season to achieve our goal, which is fourth place. And I guarantee you this—I am here working day and night, and if needed, I will stay at Milanello as long as necessary. I don’t care, because we will be there, competitive until the end to reach fourth place."
