In his editorial on the Sportitalia website, Michele Criscitiello spoke about Cesc Fabregas, the Como coach who has often been linked in recent weeks to Milan’s bench for next season:
"If Inter and Milan have even for a moment considered Fabregas for their future, then someone should make sure Ausilio and Furlani drop the idea because it would be another flop, just like Thiago Motta. We said it three weeks ago, and we reaffirm it today—more than ever. Fabregas is not ready for the big stage. Maybe he will be in 2, 3, or 5 years. But first, he needs to understand that the Fabregas the player belongs to another life. Today, he is simply Como’s coach, and to aspire to big clubs, he still has a lot to learn. It’s strange that someone like him is rated higher in Italy than in England. If he’s so good, he should be attracting more attention from the Premier League, where they know him better from his past."
Michele Criscitiello continued to talk about Fabregas:
"Como plays well, but they struggle to convert chances. Their possession game with two-touch play is solid, but beyond that, there are too many gaps and too many blackouts. In short: Fabregas is good, but he is not a genius. There are at least 20 coaches in Italy better than him. The top clubs should not make the same mistake as Giuntoli. Don’t look at the name—look at the style of play and experience. Coaching Bologna and Como is one thing, but coaching Inter, Juve, and Milan is a completely different sport."
