It seemed almost certain that Fabio Paratici would arrive at Milan with the role of sporting director, a position that has remained vacant in the Rossoneri's management this past season. However, today, as reported by MilanNews.it, there has been a significant slowdown between Milan and Paratici after the club's and the director's lawyers worked on the contract in recent hours.

The reasons and developments
At the moment, the negotiation is at a standstill. The reasons are linked to the drafting of the "way out" clauses that Milan wants to include in the contract, referring to the criminal trial in which Paratici is involved. The former Juventus and Tottenham director is awaiting the criminal verdict of the Prisma investigation into capital gains, which has already resulted in a 30-month ban in sports matters. The verdict is expected on April 15, but it may not be final, potentially delaying the sentencing. For this reason, Milan wants to protect itself with an exit clause.
With these recent developments, the paths of Milan and Paratici are diverging, although contact between the parties has not been broken off. To protect itself, the club is ready to reopen the search for the new sporting director. In this sense, the names of Igli Tare and Tony D'Amico, always considered alternatives, are once again gaining attention, after having been sidelined in recent days.
