The negotiation for Granit Xhaka could be unlocked in the coming days. After reaching a preliminary agreement with the player on a three-year deal worth around 4 million euros per season, Milan must now work to narrow the gap with Bayer Leverkusen, which for now prevents the deal from being finalized.
According to Corriere dello Sport, for the Swiss midfielder, who is about to turn 33, the Rossoneri club intends to offer 10 million euros, while the Aspirins are asking for around 15. Having paid 23 million euros for him in the summer of 2023, the reigning German champions need to receive that amount to avoid recording a capital loss on Xhaka’s departure. That’s why the parties will have to revisit talks in the coming days, as Milan’s initial offer will certainly not be enough.
