During his informal presentation to the press, AC Milan’s sporting director Igli Tare outlined the guiding principles for the club's incoming transfer market strategy. One of these concerns the central defense: a new signing will only be added in the event of a departure. After this afternoon’s developments, that scenario could lead to the arrival of a new face who is quite appreciated within Casa Milan.

Malick Thiaw heading to Como?
This scenario is closely tied to the future of Malick Thiaw. As reported, Milan and Como have reached an agreement worth 25 million euros for the German defender's transfer. However, a deal cannot yet be considered finalized, as the 2003-born player is still waiting for an official approach from the Lariani club to evaluate a (lucrative) offer said to be worth around 4 million euros per season. Discussions and meetings will follow, which could go either way, while Milan already seems to have a clear plan in place to replace Thiaw.
Thiaw could finance the Giovanni Leoni operation
A defender for a defender. Everything perfectly balanced. Igli Tare’s strategy could thus materialize: the sale of Malick Thiaw would finance the deal with Parma for Giovanni Leoni. Born in 2006, with 17 Serie A appearances and one goal already to his name, the young defender from Parma is the top choice for the defense—not only for the sporting director but also for Massimiliano Allegri, who is said to have already approved the move. What remains to be seen and monitored are Parma’s demands, as they are under no obligation to sell Giovanni Leoni and have reportedly already turned down a 25 million euro offer for the defender.
