The second adventure of Max Allegri on the AC Milan bench begins with a victory: here’s how the friendly against Oddo’s team went.
After the early July training camp, which officially marked the beginning of Massimiliano Allegri’s second stint as AC Milan head coach, the Rossoneri played their first summer test, taking on Milan Futuro, coached by Massimo Oddo, in a friendly at the Milanello training center. It was a first exam for Rafael Leao and his teammates—an opportunity for the ex Juventus boss to get a clearer idea of his squad, also in view of the upcoming summer tour in Asia and Australia, during which Milan will play several matches in preparation for the new season.

A decent start for Allegri's team with a 3-0 victory against Milan Futuro
The first real match played by Allegri’s side, even though it was only a friendly against Milan Futuro at their home ground of Milanello, ended with a clear 3-0 win for the first team. The match was played in two regular halves of 45 minutes each. Allegri fielded one starting lineup in the first half and then made way for a different eleven in the second. Davide Bartesaghi opened the scoring in the first half, while Mattia Liberali and Matteo Gabbia found the net after the break.
Allegri with a 4-3-3 tactical setup:
The coach approached his first real match back in charge of the Rossoneri with a 4-3-3 formation, giving playing time in the first half to new arrivals such as Samuele Ricci and Pietro Terracciano, who came in to replace Marco Sportiello as Mike Maignan’s backup. There were also returns to the pitch for players who spent last season out on loan, such as Alexis Saelemaekers and Lorenzo Colombo. Here was Max’s first lineup:
Milan (4-3-3): P. Terracciano; F. Terracciano, Tomori, Pavlovic, Bartesaghi; Loftus-Cheek, Ricci, Bondo; Saelemaekers, Colombo, Leao
