Interviewed this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, former coach Fabio Capello gave his take on the Serie A teams as of July 20th, speaking, of course, about Milan and the delay the Rossoneri have accumulated—especially in the transfer market.

Milan is further behind:
“The real question about Milan is this: are they working for next season or with a long-term vision? Because if the goal is simply the Champions League, that’s not worthy of Milan—the club’s history says Milan fights for the Scudetto. Right now, it’s hard to assess them. At Napoli, they’re already hanging up the paintings. At Inter, they’re focused on the finishing touches. At Milan, construction is still underway.”
A striker and a playmaker are the key targets (along with wingers), Capello comments:
“There’s talk of Vlahović. If Allegri wants him—regardless of any past friction, which always exists (believe me, I’ve had mine)—then they should go for him. Especially since there isn’t much better available at that price. Let’s see if the jersey weighs on him like it did at Juventus—San Siro is intimidating. In midfield, Modrić will be useful and help Ricci grow—he’s talented but needs more personality. Then there’s Fofana, who Allegri won’t do without—that’s beyond question. If Jashari arrives, they’re all set.”
