AC Milan’s transfer market activity continues, with several players potentially on their way out — some of whom are even on the radar of major English clubs.
One such case is that of Malick Thiaw, the German defender strongly wanted by Newcastle (here’s the situation at Milan). If he were to leave, what would the alternatives be?
Alessandro Jacobone, a journalist who often covers Milan’s matters, has provided an update on the defensive situation: Okoli, Leoni, and Comuzzo. Here’s what he wrote on X:
"On Okoli, I keep receiving confirmations. Leicester’s relegation creates favorable conditions, with the English club aware they can’t keep the young Italian in the Championship. He is aiming for the visibility of Serie A in pursuit of a spot in the national team."
Would Okoli be Thiaw’s successor at Milan?
Not according to journalist Alessandro Jacobone: "This would be a complementary deal, so don’t consider him a direct replacement for Thiaw."
If the German were to be replaced, the main names would be two: "Leoni and Comuzzo remain at the top of the priority list, in that exact order of preference."
