The Rossoneri executive is in Spain to attend the late game of the second round of La Liga: beyond the Nigerian midfielder, there are two other names on his list.
As reported in advance by Spanish outlet Chiringuito TV, AC Milan’s technical director Geoffrey Moncada was spotted in the stands of the “Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán” to watch Sevilla vs Getafe, valid for the second matchday of La Liga. His presence cannot go unnoticed, especially with only a week left before the transfer window closes and with a club like Milan, still very active in the market as it looks to give Massimiliano Allegri the final pieces needed to complete the squad.
Milan scouting...
Moncada’s past as a scout at Monaco, before joining Milan as head of talent identification, and later promoted after the departures of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, is the foundation of his ongoing search for players who could be useful to the Rossoneri. And in Sevilla-Getafe, there are at least a couple of names that can be linked to Milan.
Lukebakio
For example, in the Andalusian hosts’ lineup plays Dodi Lukebakio, used as a wide attacker in Matías Almeyda’s 4-1-4-1 system or, when needed, as a mobile striker. The Belgian international, born in 1997, formerly of Hertha Berlin, is the classic versatile profile that a Milan side in need of an attacking reinforcement could target. Milan recently lost another flexible forward in Noah Okafor (who joined Leeds) and is about to welcome new striker Conrad Harder, while also weighing potential exits such as pure winger Samu Chukwueze. Signed by Sevilla for €10 million in 2023, Lukebakio is under contract until June 2028.
Akor Adams
Lukebakio is a long-standing name on Moncada’s list, as is Akor Adams. The Nigerian striker, born in 2000, first made his mark in Norway with Lillestrøm (28 goals in 50 matches) before moving to Montpellier, where he scored 13 goals in 49 appearances. Since January he has been at Sevilla, still waiting for his first official goal. Signed for €5.5 million, he has a contract running until 2029. His candidacy would gain weight if Milan decide to pursue another true centre-forward to pair with Santiago Giménez and Conrad Harder, rather than a wide attacker, as relayed via those at Calcio Mercato.
The Uche surprise
Less known to the wider public and largely off the Rossoneri radar until now, another name has suddenly emerged in relation to Allegri’s Milan: Christantus Uche. Like Adams, and like the missed target Victor Boniface, he is Nigerian. Since the summer of 2024 he has been playing for Getafe, who signed him from Ceuta for €500,000. An attacking midfielder born in 2003, Uche is physically imposing (1.90m tall) and has an eye for goal. He already has 5 goals in 36 appearances for the Madrid club, one of which, along with an assist, proved decisive in Getafe’s opening-day win against Celta Vigo. According to Nigerian media and the Telegraph, his potential move to Wolverhampton has recently stalled, precisely due to Milan’s sudden interest. With Moncada present in the stands for Sevilla-Getafe, the mystery only deepens.
