Massimiliano Allegri could get his wish in these final days of the transfer window. In the summit held the day after the heavy defeat against Cremonese at San Siro, in Milan’s Serie A opener, the Rossoneri coach specifically mentioned Adrien Rabiot, his long-time protégé, coached for three seasons at Juventus, and now at odds with Marseille, the club he joined on a free transfer just last summer. Milan are trying to make a move, and yesterday they made an initial approach to the French side, which was positive.

15 million euros
As reported this morning by La Gazzetta, beyond already knowing Serie A and Allegri himself, Rabiot would bring quality to the midfield, particularly in the mezzala role, an area where Milan struggled against Cremonese to create meaningful chances. The relationship between the Frenchman and Marseille broke down irreparably after a post-match altercation with Jonathan Rowe (now at Bologna) following the opening game of the season, a defeat at Rennes. For this reason, OM put Rabiot on the market.
From Milan’s perspective, the transfer fee is not an obstacle. Yesterday they had first contact with the French club, who are asking for €15 million, a very reasonable price given the player’s experience, age, and quality, especially since his contract expires in June. In this context, Ismael Bennacer is not part of the equation.
A mother’s influence
One person who cannot and should not be left out of any negotiation is Veronique Rabiot, Adrien’s mother and agent. Throughout his career, she has always played a very active and decisive role in her son’s choices, with Adrien placing full trust in her judgment. Last year, when Milan reached out, her demands were completely unrealistic. This time, given the situation, the salary package could be lighter, though her approval will still be essential.
The Rossoneri are reportedly considering an offer worth €5–6 million per season until 2027, a significant financial effort, but one that could still fit within the club’s parameters, especially given the midfielder’s value and the importance he could have in Allegri’s tactical plans.
