Luca Bianchin, journalist, wrote on gazzetta.it about how Milan will play after the summer transfer window and the ten signings that arrived in exchange for as many as 27 departures, between permanent transfers and loans:
“The clues to understand how the market has changed Milan are on the table. Allegri fully intends to play with a particular 3-5-2, which with the ball turns into a 4-3-3. Three central defenders, with one of them, the right-sided center-back, able to push wide and play like a full-back. In that position, either De Winter or Tomori will play, while Gabbia and Pavlovic have strong chances of being starters. The alternatives in those roles are very limited. This is the main question, because one strong central defender would change the face of the team.
In midfield, Rabiot and Modric will play often, Loftus-Cheek and Fofana as well.
"Up front, the real puzzle: Pulisic and Leao have everything to be Allegri’s starters, but Nkunku cost almost €40 million. Whether they can play together depends on Allegri and on Pulisic’s willingness to sacrifice. Otherwise, there will be room for only two out of the three, with Saelemaekers acting as a two-in-one on the wing: he will need to run, track back, help when Milan have the ball, then make the difference with a dribble when Milan attack.”
