Today training resumed at Milanello after coach Allegri had given the squad Sunday and Monday off. With the rest days over, and while waiting for the gradual return of the various internationals, preparations began for Sunday night’s 20:45 clash at San Siro against Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna.
According to MilanNews.it, Rafael Leao, who is recovering from the calf problem picked up in mid-August against Bari in the Coppa Italia, continued his personalized training program as planned. Christopher Nkunku, who like Rafa worked at Milanello even during the break, also carried on with an individual program aimed at reaching peak fitness.
Saelemaekers and De Winter, back from duty with Belgium, did recovery work. Luka Modric is expected at Milanello tomorrow after his matches with Croatia.
All situations will be assessed more closely starting Thursday, when Massimiliano Allegri will once again have the full squad available after the returns of Pulisic, Gimenez, Rabiot, and Maignan, the last to rejoin at Milanello. From the 11th, a clearer picture will emerge, and it will become evident whether Leao will start against Bologna or begin the Serie A Week 4 match from the bench.
