Frederic Massara, Roma’s sporting director, spoke to DAZN before Milan-Roma. His words:
A thought on the passing of Galeone:
“Allow me to remember Mister Galeone. He was a coach who managed to bring out the best in every player he worked with and inspired many of them once they became coaches themselves. His loss is a sad one for us and for football. I want to express my sincere condolences to his family.”
On Milan-Roma:
"It’s certainly a tough test. Milan are strong, and San Siro is a very difficult stadium. We’ll need to deliver a top-level performance. The match will give us indications about our current form and the value of our team."
Once again without a traditional striker? Roma director Massara said:
"These are solutions the coach is testing and adjusting based on the opponent. We’ve lacked some scoring efficiency, but in the last few matches we created many chances and Dovbyk got back to scoring. The conditions are there to improve in this area."
Are you emotional about returning to San Siro? Do you see any similarities between the Milan side that won the Scudetto and this Roma team?
“It’s a great feeling to return to San Siro and to find a club that’s tied to wonderful memories for me. I must say the Scudetto-winning team has changed a lot, though a few players remain, probably the strongest ones. It’s always nice to come back here, it’s an emotional moment.”
