On Friday morning, behind closed doors, Milan will play a friendly match against Virtus Entella, a team currently sitting fourteenth in Serie B. The test was requested by Massimiliano Allegri and will feature Ardon Jashari getting significant playing time. The Swiss midfielder, who has been back in training for a couple of weeks, will have the chance to regain match rhythm and improve his fitness level. Jashari suffered a clean fibula fracture on August 28 after a collision with Santiago Gimenez during the final training session before Lecce-Milan.
Milan vs Entella: who will play
Alongside Jashari, Christian Pulisic will also use the friendly to build up his form, even though he already returned to the field last Saturday in Parma, where he missed a chance to make it 3-2 in Milan’s late push. The American stayed at Milanello during this international break after intense discussions between the club management and the U.S. federation, following the injury he sustained in the United States’ last friendlies. That episode sparked much criticism toward Mauricio Pochettino’s handling of Milan’s number eleven. Joining Pulisic and Jashari will be Estupiñán, Fofana, and several players from Milan Futuro to expand Allegri’s rotation options.
Milan vs Entella: who will not play
Unless there are changes in the next few days, Adrien Rabiot will not take part in the friendly. He still has specific training to complete before rejoining the squad next week, which leads up to the Milan derby. Santiago Gimenez is also expected to miss the match, as he continues his recovery at Milanello from the ankle injury he picked up during Atalanta-Milan.
