Simon Kjaer, former Milan defender, gave a long interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport. He spoke about Matteo Gabbia and Rafael Leao. He said:
“If Gabbia is my heir? Yes, I care about him. Hard to find someone more professional. He is ready to sacrifice himself for Milan."
"Leao? It makes sense to ask him to be more consistent, I ask him too. Rafa can be one of the best in the world. If he learned a bit from Gabbia…"
Kjaer added:
"Dembélé won the Ballon d’Or and Rafa can reach that level. He needs to improve by one percent each day. I think he cannot do this alone, few manage it alone. He needs a coach and a club that support him. He is 26 and at 29 it will be too late. Either now or he will not reach that level. There is a lot of pressure on him and the situation is not easy.”
