Milan dreams and makes others dream. Winning the Derby again against Inter is something that will inevitably help Allegri’s team grow. Winning the Derby narrowly, as Allegri likes, remains the perfect ingredient for the plan Max and his players have been preparing for months. Milan beats Inter 1-0, overtaking them and bouncing back after the slip against Parma and the international break. The Rossoneri win another big match, raising a reflection: strong against the top teams, but improvement is needed against the smaller ones.

Never a defeat: Milan knows how to win big matches

Except for the unlucky draw at Juventus, Milan has always secured important points and results against top teams. A great evening and victory at San Siro against Napoli, a convincing performance against Bologna, now a strong force in the league. Then crucial wins against Roma and Inter, always at home and always narrowly, and if we include the 1-1 in Bergamo, a tough field for everyone. This team knows how to prepare for these challenges, with humility. Playing more defensively can reduce risks at the back, lower anxiety, and ease pressure. Milan under Allegri defends and hits on the counterattack, but does it effectively. The Derby win is pure Allegri style, and this tactic works against teams used to controlling the game. The downside, however, exists, as relayed via Milan News.

Is Allegri's Milan struggling against smaller teams?

Yes. In fact, many points in the 2025-2026 league campaign were lost against lower-level teams. The shocking defeat to Cremonese is not entirely surprising. Against Pisa and Parma, Milan failed to "kill" the game, always allowing comebacks. A mental issue? Tactical? Both? Allegri's team does not always seem comfortable controlling the pace of the game. This flaw needs improvement to handle future matches better. On Saturday, Sarri's Lazio comes to San Siro, and curiosity is high to see how the Rossoneri will face this tricky new challenge in their otherwise excellent run.
