Among the players who have felt the impact of Max Allegri’s arrival on the bench the most is certainly Strahinja Pavlovic. After a very difficult season, in which he featured only sporadically, especially under Paulo Fonseca, the Serbian defender now looks like a completely different player under the guidance of the Livorno-born coach. He is more alert, more focused, and far more precise in his marking and defensive interventions. In short, it is a totally different story compared to a year ago.
As per Tuttosport reports this morning that his excellent performances have attracted the attention of several English clubs. To fend off these dangerous transfer-market suitors, Milan have opened talks with Pavlovic’s agents to begin discussions over a contract extension until 2031. His current deal runs until 2028, so there is still time, but the club management does want to secure him as soon as possible and keep all interested teams at bay.
Under Allegri, the Serbian has effectively become an undisputed starter for Milan, a scenario that would have been unthinkable just a year ago. During the January transfer window, he was close to leaving, with Crystal Palace, Galatasaray, and Atalanta in particular showing interest. In the end, Pavlovic stayed at Milan, and with Sergio Conceição replacing Fonseca on the bench, his playing time increased significantly. However, his performances remained rather disappointing. Now, those displays are just a bad memory, because thanks to Max Allegri, Milanello is seeing a completely different player.
