Zlatan Ibrahimovic was absent due to injury but it was no problem for Stefano Pioli's AC Milan as Ante Rebic replaced him and managed to scored a hattrick against Torino last night.
Ante Rebic always shows up in the spring during the second half of the season, he's back in full speed, wrote La Gazzetta dello Sport today in their edition.
The Croatian has the same numbers as last year (11 goals in 26 league games played), but this time he can improve his score, since there are still two games to play.
Rebic did not play the striker role like Ibrahimovic, but he did it in his own way and it paid off. He was free and created much space to his teammates. He was always looking for someone to pass the ball to even when he could have taken a shot.
For now, it seems that Pioli can rely on Rebic until the season's end as the Rossoneri hope to seal the Champions League qualification, then there will be talks about a potential Ibra deputy in the summer's mercato session.
