Il Quotidiano Sportivo in today’s newsstand edition carries this headline this morning:

"Heavy atmosphere at Milan. Fans against CEO Furlani."

Tomorrow the Rossoneri will host Atalanta at San Siro, where a protest by fans against CEO Giorgio Furlani will take place. Chants and banners against the Milan chief executive are expected, and some Milan supporters have also launched an online petition calling for his resignation.

On Sunday, in various forms, there will be a strong expression of dissent towards Furlani's work as CEO, while the team, at least during the 90 minutes, will still be supported because the objective of qualifying for the Champions League is something that unites everyone. However, if a victory or a convincing performance does not come against Atalanta, then players and coach would also come under fire. Dedicated banners are not ruled out (it remains to be seen whether they will be allowed into the stadium, as everything depends on the tone of their content and approval from security authorities and AC Milan), targeting the CEO.

It is also likely that, before kick-off, Mike Maignan may make a gesture towards the fans (on the initiative of the Rossoneri captain) to "make amends" for what was shown by DAZN cameras on Sunday, namely the French goalkeeper urging his teammates to return to the dressing rooms after the away section had "invited" the players not to come over in front of them. The team wants the fans on its side and knows how great they were even last Sunday in Reggio Emilia, and does not want to betray their trust.
