When Mike Maignan was still not certain about what his future would be, during the autumn months, with his contract originally set to expire in 2027, one of the options on the table was Juventus. The Bianconeri were looking for a goalkeeper who could replace the underwhelming Michele Di Gregorio, who has not managed to convince between the posts for the Old Lady. Later, Massimiliano Allegri and Igli Tare had persuaded Maignan to renew for five years, and therefore Juventus had stepped aside. Everything could now change with the chaotic situation at AC Milan and the Rossoneri goalkeeper who may no longer be sure he wants to stay.
Juventus makes contacts for AC Milan's star goalkeeeper Mike Maignan
It is the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport that, this morning, has brought this possible Juventus-Milan negotiation for Mike Maignan back into focus. Specifically, the newspaper headlines it as: “Contact with Maignan. Search for a new goalkeeper, the Old Lady reconsiders Mike”. According to some French media outlets, it would have been Juventus who reopened discussions, while the club insists that it was the player’s entourage who re-established contact. The subheading reads: “Comolli is pursuing an experienced profile for the post–Di Gregorio. Enquiry with the Milan player, already targeted before the renewal”.
