During his usual video update on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano provided an update on AC Milan’s managerial situation, confirming that the candidacy of Ruben Amorim is gaining increasing momentum:
“There is light at the end of the tunnel. We have been telling you for days: ‘less and less Glasner, there is no agreement, he is not coming’, and we have kept two names for you, those of Ruben Amorim and Matthias Jaissle. Both still, as of tonight, because nothing has been finalised yet, but as of tonight we can tell you that the name of Ruben Amorim is gaining more and more strength for Milan. We told you about his name as an outsider, about yesterday’s contacts. An agreement between Milan and Ruben Amorim, also in terms of figures and contract length, for a deal that could be three years, is being worked on intensively. Milan and Amorim are getting closer and closer. We are also keeping the name of Matthias Jaissle in the frame, but in this case the issue that is causing the German to drop down the list is how to release him from Al-Ahli, who would demand much more than the figures being discussed elsewhere. It is not 5–6 million, but much more. And that is a problem."
Amorim cannot wait to join AC Milan, says Fabrizio Romano:
"The name of Ruben Amorim is much simpler; the Portuguese coach has already given full openness, and so we are following this Milan turning point for Ruben. There is confidence. He has already confided to those closest to him that he cannot wait to go to Milan, to be ready for this experience. He is very optimistic that he will be the chosen one.”
