After sorting out the managerial position with Ruben Amorim, Milan seemed on the verge of filling two other vacant spots in its organisational structure as well, namely those of technical director and sporting director. It will be necessary, however, to wait a little longer. Markus Krosche and Timmo Hardung had been selected for these roles respectively, both of whom are under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Irritated by the Rossoneri club’s way of operating, the German side decided to block the departure of both men. As a result, only a few weeks before the squad reconvenes at Milanello, the Diavolo are still without a management team.
Krosche and Hardung deal collapses:
This was reported this morning by Tuttosport, which explains that Milan had taken the arrivals of Krosche and Hardung for granted, even allowing the impression to spread that the decision to appoint Amorim as head coach had also been endorsed by the man who was set to become Milan’s new head of technical operations.
In particular, Eintracht were unhappy to learn from the Italian media that an agreement had already been reached between the two German executives and the club on Via Aldo Rossi. Initially, the German club considered demanding a substantial compensation fee of €10 million from Milan to release them, but ultimately decided not to part ways with either of them. Consequently, their move to the Rossoneri collapsed.
What happens now at Milan?
This is the question that Milan supporters have been asking over the past few hours, understandably remaining concerned about the situation of their beloved club, which is still without a management structure in place.
The Italian club has indicated that there are other profiles that had previously been assessed and will now be contacted again. In addition, sources at Casa Milan have stated that the other candidates who had been under consideration were also aligned with the choice of Ruben Amorim as head coach.
Following this line of reasoning, it is reasonable to assume that whoever is eventually appointed as Head of Football and Sporting Director has already given positive feedback regarding the Portuguese manager.
The search is therefore reopening, and it cannot be ruled out that some of the names linked with the club in recent weeks may come back into contention, such as Viktor Bezhani, David Ozek and Ramon Planes.
