New York City FC made a serious attempt by putting a very lucrative financial offer on the table for the player, but AC Milan blocked any move for Christian Pulisic, who is considered completely unavailable for transfer. This was reported this morning by Corriere dello Sport, which added that the forward himself has no desire to move to Major League Soccer. If he were to leave Milan, he would prefer to remain in Europe.
For now, his sole focus is on the World Cup, which the United States are hosting and taking part in. Once he returns to Milan, attention will also turn to discussions over a new contract, as his current deal expires in 2027. While Milan do have an option to extend it by a further season, Pulisic wants a higher salary if he is to stay, reportedly more than €6 million per year.
Milan owner Gerry Cardinale is also pushing to keep his fellow American at the club, not only for footballing reasons but also because of Pulisic's marketing value.
