In the statement with which Milan announced the signing of Gonçalo Ramos from PSG, there was no textual reference to the shirt number chosen by the Portuguese striker. The clue, however, was in the photo published both on the Rossoneri website and on social media channels: the silhouette of the striker in shadow with the number 9 shining on his chest.
After all, it was the number he wore at PSG, and at Milan it had belonged to Füllkrug in recent months, a striker who from today is no longer a Milan player. Thus Luca Bianchin in 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' writes about how Ramos will take the number 9 and challenge the curse, recently only defeated by Olivier Giroud.
Luca Bianchin talks about the number Gonçalo Ramos will wear at Milan:
"The number 9 appears in the Milan statement and is almost an announcement: Gonçalo had it at PSG, at Milan that number belongs to Füllkrug, who will not stay. The current idea is that Ramos will take it and challenge the curse of the number 9, as only Giroud has managed to do. He will arrive in Italy calmly, in late July, perhaps August: it will depend on Portugal’s progress, because a couple of weeks’ holiday is the minimum for everyone."
