Gianluca Di Marzio, within “Caffè Di Marzio”, the podcast in collaboration between TuttoMercatoWeb.com and Gianlucadimarzio.com, spoke as follows about the transfer dealings involving Milan, Inter and Napoli:
“It can be safely said, without risk of contradiction, that Napoli were certainly the first to move on two targets of the last few hours of the transfer window. We are talking about Khalaili, the Union Saint-Gilloise winger, who not everyone knew, and Mario Gila. Napoli definitely acted well in advance on these two players, but at the moment they risk seriously losing both of their main transfer targets."
"On Khalaili, Inter are pushing strongly. They have reached an economic agreement with the player and are trying to finalise a deal with the Belgian club. On Gila, meanwhile, Milan are the team that have moved strongly in the last few hours: they have reached an agreement with the player’s agent, also thanks to the advantages of the Growth Decree. Now there is the step involving Lazio, where the right fee has to be offered: Lazio are asking for 30 million euros, also because they must pay 50% to Real Madrid.
"Why hasn’t Napoli closed the deal? Napoli must respect certain parameters; let’s not forget that last January they had a transfer window with a zero net spend. Today they are in a position where they cannot complete this operation unless it is linked to other departures. We will now see whether they can somehow recover ground, perhaps also for Gila himself, but it is clear that it becomes difficult when the competition is Milan or Inter.”
