Pervis Estupiñán could leave Milan in the coming weeks, with the Premier League calling.
The possibility of a move to Aston Villa for the Ecuadorian full-back has emerged in recent days. He only arrived at the Rossoneri a year ago but is already ready to depart after a season with few highs, including his goal in the derby against Inter, and many lows.
The 1998-born defender is a favourite of Unai Emery and, as also reported by The Telegraph, the deal is progressing quickly.
Milan–Aston Villa: "Advanced negotiations"
Aston Villa are pushing to complete a deal for Estupiñán in the near future.
The Ecuadorian has already worked with Unai Emery at Villarreal and has been identified by the Villans as the ideal replacement for Lucas Digne, who is close to becoming a new Paris Saint-Germain player for around €8 million.
There is optimism coming from England: according to The Telegraph, negotiations between Milan and Aston Villa are at an advanced stage, with the Birmingham club confident of completing the transfer soon.
What is AC Milan’s asking price?
Milan, who invested €17 million plus €2 million in bonuses to sign Estupiñán from Brighton a year ago, are looking to bring in a similar amount to reinvest in the transfer market.
The Rossoneri’s asking price is €20 million, while Aston Villa would like to close the deal for a lower fee. A compromise could be reached somewhere in the middle, at around €18 million.
Milan’s replacements:
With the money received from Estupiñán’s sale, Milan are ready to return to the market in search of new wide players.
One name they like a lot is Noussair Mazraoui, the Moroccan international from Manchester United, who can operate on both flanks and can also be used in central defence.
He is not the only option, as while some targets are currently very expensive, such as Guéla Doué, valued at €50 million by Strasbourg, others could become opportunities. Among them is Rafik Belghali, who is coming off an excellent individual season despite Verona’s relegation. This was relayed by Calcio Mercato.
