For the past few days, Rafael Leao has been back at work with AC Milan. Yesterday in Perth, the club's training gallery featured a photo of the No. 10 embracing Ruben Amorim. It was a warm gesture, but it has not changed the position of either party: Milan remain determined to sell the player, while Leao is equally convinced that the time has come to seek a new challenge elsewhere. However, his departure remains at a standstill, with the interested Turkish clubs still falling short of Milan and Gerry Cardinale's valuation.
This morning's edition of Tuttosport provided an update on Rafael Leao's situation. The newspaper ran the headline:
"Fenerbahçe step up pursuit of Leao, but it's still not enough."
The report states: "The Turkish club are preparing an offer worth close to €50 million, but Cardinale remains unmoved: €60 million is required."
AC Milan owner and RedBird founder Gerry Cardinale is unwilling to accept anything less than €60 million for Rafael Leao, a valuation he has personally insisted upon. At the same time, however, the prolonged stalemate is beginning to raise questions within the Rossoneri hierarchy. As Tuttosport notes: "The deadlock is preventing new arrivals. Milan's dilemma: keep Rafa or lower the asking price?"
