Rafael Leao’s future has been decided.
Galatasaray will be the Portuguese winger’s next club: the deal with Milan is done. The agreement between the parties is for a permanent transfer worth €43 million plus €2 million in bonuses, with Milan also retaining a 20% sell-on clause. The decisive turning point came when the Turkish club received the green light from Leao to proceed. This was an important step that allowed Galatasaray to accelerate the negotiations and ultimately beat Aston Villa to his signing.
Galatasaray complete Leao deal: Aston Villa beaten, who secure Mbaye instead
Aston Villa remained in the background. The English club had been working to convince the now-former Milan No. 10, but Galatasaray’s improved offer (€12.5 million in wages) ultimately won him over, as relayed via Milan Press. The Portuguese forward is expected to travel to Istanbul as early as tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Villans have completed a signing of their own: instead of Leao, they have turned to Paris Saint-Germain’s Ibrahim Mbaye. The deal is worth €55 million.
