As reported on August 16, Samuele Ricci had emerged as a target for Como. Today, following his medical tests and the signing of his contract, the move was officially announced by the Lombardy club.
The statement reads:
"Como 1907 are delighted to announce the signing of Italian midfielder Samuele Ricci on loan from AC Milan until the end of the 2026/27 season, with an option to buy.
Born in 2001, Ricci came through Empoli’s youth academy, progressing through the youth ranks before making his professional debut in Serie B in 2019.
After making more than 90 appearances for Empoli, Ricci joined Torino in January 2022, initially on loan before making the move permanent. After three and a half seasons with the Granata, the midfielder joined Milan in July 2025.
At 25, Samuele Ricci already has more than 200 professional appearances to his name and has represented the Italian senior national team on several occasions. An intelligent and technically gifted midfielder, Ricci joins Cesc Fàbregas’ side bringing significant Serie A experience and the ability to dictate play in midfield.
Como 1907 head coach Cesc Fàbregas said: “Samuele is a player we know well. He has great technical quality, intelligence and the ability to manage the ball. I am convinced that his characteristics fit well with our style of play and that he can give us a lot. We are delighted to have him with us and cannot wait to start working together.”
Speaking about his arrival in Como, Samuele Ricci said: “I am happy to be here. My first impressions have been excellent from the very beginning. I really liked the project presented to me by the club and I cannot wait to make myself available to the coach and the team and begin this new experience.
