Journalist Luca Bianchin had the following to say about Ruben Amorim’s Milan in La Gazzetta dello Sport:
"Cristian Chivu was not entirely wrong. Juventus-Milan did not look like a direct clash between two title contenders: it was a poor game, played at a low tempo with little attacking intent. That can be understandable in September, but by eleven o’clock at night, one question begins to emerge: can Juventus and Milan really challenge for the Scudetto? The first answer is that we need to take things slowly, but Inter, Roma and Como seem to be on another level. Stronger, better structured, more of a team."
"Milan, meanwhile, played a very defensive game ("allegrian", if you like) and that can also be viewed positively: humility and pragmatism are not bad qualities to have along the journey. Of course, a lot still needs to be built, and a lot will have to change. ‘We did not play well,’ Amorim said afterwards. Honest. The ball moved slowly and, for long spells, Milan could not play their way out of Juventus’ press, which was not even particularly intense. The technical quality of the team, after all, was not particularly high: Musah, Pavlovic and Estupiñán are not exactly princes when it comes to playing with the ball. On top of that, Rabiot and Moreira, making their first starts, were among the worst players on the pitch. Clearly, they did not look comfortable. The same could be said of Saelemaekers, who was deployed as the left-sided attacking midfielder. Quite simply, Amorim still has to choose his men: he said that he will rotate heavily over the coming weeks, and yes, that makes sense. However, he will quickly need to find some key reference points in order to lower the risk factor."
