The Italian newspaper 'Corriere dello Sport' runs the following headline on its front page today:
"Amorim storm. Milan sunk and booed." It was a poor start to the season in the Europa League for the Rossoneri, who were booed by the fans at San Siro last night after their 0-2 home defeat to Benfica. Ruben Amorim’s team selection once again raised eyebrows, with the Portuguese coach making excessive use of rotation and initially leaving several key players on the bench.
Some of the coach’s pre-match comments are also a cause for concern: "Is the squad poorly suited to my style of play? Partly, yes. I don’t have the perfect profiles because it’s impossible to arrive at a new club and have everything already in place. I know it will take time, and I also know that the pressure is so high that you don’t have time. But I prefer this kind of work because it means a lot to me: if I have to fail, it’s better that I fail spectacularly. I want to help this club. I don’t know if I’ll have the necessary time, but the players listen to me a lot in training, and that gives me hope that we can find solutions."
