The Italian newspaper 'Corriere dello Sport' praises Luka Modric, who scored for Croatia against the Czech Republic on Saturday evening. The ex Real Madrid and Tottenham star became the oldest goalscorer in the history of the Croatian national team:
"Modric is eternal"
After the World Cup, it was thought that he might leave the national team, but instead, alongside continuing his adventure with AC Milan, the former Real Madrid midfielder decided to carry on representing Croatia.
The midfielder, who turned 41 a few weeks ago, wants to continue making a difference for Milan as well. 'Corriere dello Sport' writes: "Luka did not want to leave on the back of a failure: he wants to lead 'his' club to victory, bringing it closer to the glory days that are the reason he became such a passionate fan, he still wants to fight for the shirt and make his contribution, in the ways and at the times decided by the coach. With Amorim, the relationship is very frank: the coach knows what he can ask of his No. 14 and the No. 14 knows what he can give; if he finds himself on the bench from time to time, he will not make a fuss, there will be no sulking and no complaints."
