Two days before the clash with Italy at the Stade de France, Manu Koné spoke at a press conference from the French national team’s training camp in Clairefontaine.
The Roma midfielder also spoke about Mike Maignan, among other topics. Here are his comments.
Manu Koné on Mike Maignan:
"He is a great goalkeeper, Milan’s captain. In Italy, it is difficult to score against him, as he takes up a lot of space. With his voice, he is the leader of Milan. He is a great team-mate, and I am very happy to have him in the national team. We are proud of him."
Maignan was captain against Belgium:
"With Mbappé absent and Dembélé, Koundé and Rabiot all starting on the bench, it was Maignan who wore the captain’s armband for France against Belgium. It is a role he has already held for some time at Milan, and one that has now been entrusted to him at international level too. A leader both on and off the pitch."
