During the summer, there was no shortage of offers for many of Milan’s young players, but Ruben Amorim believes in them and wanted to keep some of them in the squad: goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani, who had an excellent pre-season; defenders Valeri Vladimirov and Sankhoun Diawara, the latter having joined from Troyes for €3 million this summer; midfielder Christian Comotto, who returned from his loan spell at Spezia; and forwards Francesco Camarda, who spent last season on loan at Lecce, and Alphadjo Cisse. With the exception of the latter, who has been given plenty of playing time and has already scored twice, the others have barely seen the pitch at the start of the season. However, their turn will come soon.
Amorim has so far relied mainly on his more experienced players. However, after the international break, Milan are set for a real fixture pile-up, with matches every three days until the November international break, meaning there will also be opportunities for the younger players. Comotto, for example, will enter the Portuguese coach’s midfield rotations and could make his season debut in the next few Serie A or Europa League matches. The young midfielder renewed his contract in the summer because Milan and Amorim have strong belief in him, despite the fact that he is only 18 years old, as relayed via Milannews.it.
Milan talent Camarda should also earn a chance to prove himself soon
Another player who will certainly get playing time is Camarda, who is the first and only alternative in the squad to Gonçalo Ramos, who obviously cannot play every match. With the Cristiano Ronaldo situation that has erupted in Portugal, the former PSG striker could feature in both of the two remaining matches for the Portuguese national team and could therefore return to Milanello rather tired. If that is the case, perhaps Camarda could be given the task of leading the Rossoneri attack against Sassuolo when the season resumes. The other young players will also get their opportunities, particularly Diawara, who will need to give Pavlovic some time to rest.
