Carlo Pellegatti, a journalist, spoke about the possible new Milan sporting director who would be placed in charge of the football area on his YouTube channel:
"We need to understand from the United States how Gerry Cardinale's scouting process for the head of football for the future is going: this seems to me to be one of the main topics. The talks are continuing and the work is continuing, but for now there are still no concrete names. Krösche is out, Boto is out; I heard a rumour from City which has not been confirmed, and we'll see whether there will be another name that we can think might be the right one. What seems to be the case at the moment, although I wouldn't bet even a matchstick on it, is that he should be a foreigner. However, it may be that the next round of talks will give Gerry Cardinale a clearer idea.
Cardinale is used to speaking at length with the people he chooses and wants to be fully convinced about them. We'll see whether this figure will be identified, as I believe, before the league resumes. That would be important, because someone would be arriving who still needs to settle in and find his bearings. On the other hand, if the decision was not made to bring him in earlier, there has to be a starting point somewhere; such a traumatic beginning and these pressures could even prove useful to the newcomer."
