AC Milan midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who scored the Rossoneri’s goal in this afternoon’s 1-1 draw away to Sassuolo, spoke to Sky Sport 24 to share his thoughts on the match at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia. Here are his full comments.
Rabiot, are you satisfied with this performance?
“We do some good things, but then every now and again we fail to do what we should. Immediately after scoring, we conceded two chances and Mike saved us, before they scored from a set-piece. These are things that are difficult to understand. We need to watch the match back and analyse everything. I think we put in a good performance, but we could have done much better given the players we have and the way we worked during the week. Sassuolo are a good team, with strong players who can cause you problems and have plenty of quality, so it is not easy. We cannot concede goals like that because it is a situation we work on almost every day. They are small details, but ultimately, I think we dropped two points.”
Are you still trying to find your identity? Rabiot replied:
“We also adapt to our opponents. During the week, we work differently depending on the team we are going to face. I think it is also a strength to be able to defend with either a back four or a back three, build up with three or four players, and try different players in different positions. So, it is true that there is still work to do, of course, but tonight there were also some simple things we could have done that we got wrong technically, and that is not acceptable.”
