The long-running saga surrounding a possible union between Milan and Markus Krösche has entered a new chapter, perhaps a decisive one. Yesterday, in an official statement, Eintracht announced that the German executive had been relieved of his duties.

Meanwhile, he continues to hold talks with the Rossoneri, with negotiations having begun as early as the summer.
“After more than five years of great success, but also very demanding years in Frankfurt, I needed a change,” Krösche himself told Bild.
The German executive, who has not yet officially terminated his contract, which runs until 2028, is now an even stronger candidate to become Milan’s new Head of Football.
Would Krösche also bring his trusted sporting director and right-hand man, Timmo Hardung, to Milan, who followed him both at Leipzig and Frankfurt?
Hardung has a meeting with Eintracht today, but for now, the club appears to have confirmed its intention to keep him. In short, while yesterday may have been a key day for Krösche, a little more patience will be needed regarding Hardung, concludes Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition.
