After scoring four goals against Salzburg in the Europa League a few days ago and three more in last night’s league match against Atalanta, it can be said that Milan’s attack has finally come to life. This is what Corriere della Sera writes this morning, praising the team’s first 66 minutes, which Ruben Amorim described as the best of the season.
Unfortunately, however, came the collapse in the final half-hour, with Atalanta coming close to overturning their three-goal deficit. Milan have shown that they can play good football, but they must not become too pleased with themselves. This is certainly something they need to work on.
After the match, Amorim commented on his team’s performance as follows:
"The result is the most important thing. For 66 minutes, it was the best Milan of the season. Why did we then drop off? Perhaps we were a little tired. The momentum of the match changed completely after the 3-1, we stopped pressing, and the nervousness began. We could have avoided the two goals. We started to get scared when, instead, we should have been scoring the fourth, but we are playing well and I do not want to focus only on the final part of the match."
