With last night’s 3-2 victory over Atalanta, Ruben Amorim’s Milan have moved up to 15 points in the Serie A table after the first seven matchdays.
The numbers from recent seasons
For the Rossoneri, who remain unbeaten in the league, it is a good start to the season, but not their best in recent years. Looking at the last eight seasons, this tally ranks fifth, ahead of the 14 points collected under Pioli in 2022/23, the 11 earned under Fonseca in 2024/25 and the nine recorded under Giampaolo in 2019/20, as relayed via Milan Press.
Milan had made a better start in 2025/26, collecting 16 points under Allegri, as well as in 2023/24 with 18 points, 2021/22 with 19 points and 2020/21 with 17 points, all under Pioli.
Amorim’s comments on the start of the season
“After Sassuolo, I said that we were improving, and I still see that. The final minutes do not change that, but they confirm that we need to improve. Rotating the squad helps us a lot, and the players are working hard. We are getting to grips with the runs and pressing required. We are understanding the different phases of a match better: when we manage to do that, it seems easier to be in the right position. I am happy with the result, and we will keep going like this.”
