These are crucial days for finalising the role of AC Milan’s Head of Football, with Markus Krösche, officially released from Eintracht Frankfurt, representing the leading candidate favoured by Gerry Cardinale after the option was explored in the summer, also thanks to his approval of coach Rúben Amorim.
Krosche like Maldini...
Krösche would inherit a broad role similar to that of Paolo Maldini, without specifically requiring the Italian federal qualification for a Sporting Director. The deal has not yet been fully finalised due to several details still to be settled, most notably compensation estimated at between €3 million and €7 million to release him from the waiting period imposed by Eintracht Frankfurt, as relayed via Tuttosport today.
At Eintracht Frankfurt, as at Leipzig, he was responsible for developing young talents for resale, whereas at Milan he will have to contend with the ambition of building a competitive squad capable of winning in Italy and in the Champions League.
The German's potential arrival in the coming weeks would allow for better planning ahead of the January transfer window, a period in which the Rossoneri are looking for a defender, a full-back and a possible attacking reinforcement, while also evaluating the potential arrival of his right-hand man, Timmo Hardung.
