Milan was certainly one of the clubs that were most active and invested the most during the summer transfer window, but it is clear to everyone that there are still gaps in the Milan squad that the club will have to try to address in January. However, before completing the squad, the Rossoneri want to finalise the arrival of the new Head of Football, namely Markus Krösche.
Milan continue talks with Krösche: the situation
The Italian newspaper Tuttosport reported this morning that many were convinced that, after being relieved of his duties at Eintracht Frankfurt, it would only be a matter of a few days. Instead, more time will be needed.
There are two reasons for this. First of all, the German is still under contract until 2028, meaning that a clause will have to be paid to release him. Added to this is the fact that, according to reports coming from Germany, Krösche would like to take a short break after five very intense years at Eintracht.
Milan, however, are in a hurry and aim to finalise his arrival at the club as soon as possible because the January transfer window needs to be planned and organised.
Milan have three January targets to complete the squad
The Rossoneri will mainly have three targets. It has been known for some time that Milan will have to bring in a defensive reinforcement, and Gonçalo Inácio of Sporting Lisbon remains at the top of the list. However, other names are also being monitored, such as Luca Reggiani, a centre-back born in 2008 who plays for Borussia Dortmund.
A new addition will also be needed on the flanks, although it remains to be seen whether on the right or left, and whether Milan will sign a full-back for a back four or a player capable of covering the entire flank. The choice will depend on the system of play Ruben Amorim decides to use more consistently.
Milan's final January target will then be a backup for Gonçalo Ramos, because Francesco Camarda does not yet seem to be ready.
