Ruben Amorim spoke to DAZN at the end of Udinese-Milan 0-2. Here are all his words:
A thrilling match with all these injuries… How happy are you?
“I am happy for the players and proud. We said we wanted to be competitive from the very beginning, and we have demonstrated that. I am really happy and proud of the team; now we have to think about the next match.”
How is the development of Milan’s young players progressing?
“I think it is impossible with this schedule at the moment… Everyone has injuries. So all the players have to be ready. My job is not only to win, but also to guarantee a future for Milan. We have a lot of injuries, and these players have shown me that they are ready to handle the pressure of playing for this club. I am really happy; when they are on the pitch, I am the one responsible, and I want them to do well.”
Amorim, how happy are you with Bartesaghi?
“He did very well today. I think he is better offensively than defensively. He needs to improve the defensive phase in one-on-one situations and his aggression. He has pace, he crosses well, and he always finishes in training. He needs to be able to…”
On the improvements, Amorim said:
“We have to work on many things. But I am proud because we did not have time to work on what went wrong in the last match. We practically did not have the opportunity to work on the pitch, but only through video. To tell the truth, in recent weeks we have practically not been training, so I am really proud.”
Who will win the Ballon d’Or?
“I have no idea. If it is not a Milan player, I am not interested. I am thinking about who will survive to play again in two days. If it is not a Milan player, I do not care anyway.”
