Mattia Caldara, who spent a loan spell at Atalanta did not manage to earn his keep within Gian Piere Gasperini as he faced many physical problems. The Bergamo side, thus, chose not to activate his buy-option at the end of the last season.
After his return to Milanello, Venezia showed concrete interest in Caldara and it seems that the 27-year-old defender is set to the newly-promoted Serie A club to start a new experience.
According to what is revealed by Gianluca Di Marzio, tomorrow will be the day of the medical vists for the former Juventus centre-back. The decisive meeting to close the deal was held the day before yesterday. The last obstacle is passing the medicals, and then, all the documents will be signed and the transfer will be official.
Caldara will join Venezia on a loan transfer, the player will be able to take advantage of this new experience to gain more playing minutes.
