In the previous transfer market window, AC Milan chose not to give into super agent Mino Raiola's demands for the contract renewal of Italian talented goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Rossoneri Primavera product eventually left at the end of his contract deal and signed for French giants Paris Saint-Germain on a lucrative deal.
Sporting director Frederic Massara and technical area director Paolo Maldini, however, were good at finding a suitable replacement. Mike Maignan arrived to Milanello on a transfer fee around 15 million euros from Lille and he is now proving that he is worth much more than that.
Tuttosport, in today's edition, highlights how good Maignan has been to Milan. He made the club and fans forget about Donnarumma's departure as he has been a guarantee between the posts. At the age of 25, the French shotstopper commands his teammates in front of him, the defenders, to position themselves well and he contributes with great passing range from the back.
He is also climbing the ranks in the national team: he went from third to second goalkeeper in the French selection, concludes the article who refer to him as a 'wall'.
