AC Milan played against Atlético Madrid in occasion of matchday 2 of UEFA Champions League group stage. The game at the San Siro saw Milan take control for the first half-time. However, there were many twists and turns that made the momentum side with the Spaniards as they eventually won at the San Siro.
One of the big factors that changed the game is the refereeing of the Turk, Cuneyt Cakir and his compatriot in charge of Var Abdulkadir Bitigen.
Yesterday, a report from SportMediaset said that both Turkish referees will be dealt with by UEFA (click here for more details).
Now, as per La Gazzetta dello Sport, UEFA has indeed decided to suspend both men for their poor handling of the game and the non-existent penalty given to Atlético Madrid.
AC Milan, however, still sits last in the table after two losses in the Champions League. But for now, eyes are on the Serie A fixture against Atalanta.
