Cafu, former legendary full-back who wrote the history pages with AC Milan, was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport in order to discuss the the Rossoneri'sm path so far in this season.
"I am very pleased to see Milan finally competitive. I follow the team in the league and in the Champions League and I hope it will be a good year to win again, at least in Italy."
On the Champions League difficulties:
"In Europe the lack of experience of many players affects the results, even if only against Porto the performance was not good. With Atletico, the referee's decision in the end affected the result, but we must not think about these things or look for excuses. The Champions League is a different competition, there are the best teams in the world and Milan are just coming out of a difficult period. But the progress in the league shows that the right path has been taken for some time."
On the Scudetto:
"It seems to me that the mentality of the team is the best one to grow but also to win and it's thanks to Pioli, who was very good at conveying a taste for the game. Milan attack and run fast."
On Ibrahimovic:
"He is still scary at the age of 40. He can be decisive in many ways. He scores goals and is committed to training."
Cafu On the full-backs who move forward:
"It's true, in the Milan game Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez go down a lot and don't just stay on the sideline. Often, they move towards the center creating numerical superiority and ending the action. It is an excellent tactical idea, it enhances their characteristics. Today the full-back is one of the most important roles because he can make a difference in both phases. But be careful, running is not enough, you need technique because if you then reach the destination and don't know where to put the ball, it becomes useless. You have to go fast, skip the opponent and serve your teammate in the box."
On the best right-backs in the world right now:
"I think Hakimi, Carvajal who is also good in defense, and Alexander Arnold."
