Fabio Maresca’s past with AC Milan – All the precedents and numbers

AC Milan will travel to Rome to face José Mourinho's team in matchday 11. Fabio Maresca was designated to officiate this Serie A clash.

The 40-year-old man, born in Napoli, will officiate the 11th game in his career which involves AC Milan.

The first Milan game with Maresca as main referee was against Chievo Verona in 2017. Two yellow cards were show to the Rossoneri. There were also three penalties, two for Milan (one was missed) while a cotroversial one was for Chievo Verona.

Then, in 2018, Maresca Officiated Milan - Crotone in a 1-0 win. Only two yellow card were shown to Milan.

Three months latern AC Milan draw 1-1 with Torino under the direction of Fabio Maresca. Three yellow cards to Milan, but one red card and a penalty in favour of the Turin-based club.

Still in 2018, Milan managed to win a difficult game against Sampdoria 3-2. 5 yellow cards were distributed, 3 to Il Diavoli while 2 to Sampdoria.

In December 18, 2018, Bologna drew against AC Milan in a goalless match. 4 yellow cards and one red card to the Rossoneri were awarded.

Maresca also officiated in 2019 AS Roma - AC Milan fixture which ended 1-1, 4 yellow cards to Milan with 3 to the Roman club.

In November 10, 2019, Milan lost 1-0 against Juventus: 5 yellow cards were shown to the Rossoneri while only one was given to the Bianconeri.

September 2, 2020 saw the Rossoneri lose once again with Maresca as referee in the derby against Internazionale 4-2. 6 yellow cards were awarded, 2 of which were for the red and black side of Milano.

In 2021, the 40-year-old directed two games. First one was versus Torino in a 2-0 win which saw 6 yellow cards given to the red and black faithful and a penalty in favour of Pioli's men.

Against Parma in the same year, 4 yellow cards were given by Maresca to AC Milan players and Zlatan Ibrahimovic was inexplicably shown a red card in the dying minutes of the game.

35 yellow cards and two red cards were shown overall by Maresca to AC Milan players in just 10 games. Now, Stefano Pioli's men are set for another game with him on the field tomorrow.
