Pierre Kalulu spoke to Sofoot.com in an exclusive interview. The young French full-back of AC Milan discussed his experience with the red and black side of Milan city and his favourite role on the pitch:
"My favourite role? This is really the right question. Honestly, it depends on which team I play on. At Milan, as long as I'm on the pitch, that's okay for me because it's a great club. In fact, I don't define myself for my role. Rather, it is the coaches who decide my position. Some prefer me on the right, others in the middle. As long as I'm on the pitch it's fine (laughs)", said Kalulu.
"I see my flexibility as an advantage, because in modern football we are very mobile. I can be lateral and have to intervene in the centre and vice versa. I can overcome several problems in the field. It means that I have qualities that change from others and that differentiate me a little. This thing also comes from the formation I had at Lyon, where we have never been fixed in one position."
Kalulu concluded:
"You had to be good everywhere", he added, "I was never trained to be a defender, although defending helps. They taught us to be great football players, quite simply. And that's what makes the difference."
