AC Milan directors, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, who are in charge of the transfer market decisions, will be looking to find a suitable and affordable replacement for Simon Kjaer's whose season is over already due to a very unfortunate injury.
There are two names highlighted in red for the Rossoneri management, writes Milannews.it.
As per the Italian website, Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina and Andrea Christensen from Chelsea are the two targets to follow. Rocco Commisso will not let go of the Serbian defender easily and would ask for 15 million euros. His contract expires in June 2023 (after a 1-year extension applied last season). Milenkovic and Fiorentina will 'inevitably' seperate but it remains to be seen if it will be this January or in the summer.
In fact, it will be difficult for Milan to sign the Serbian 24-year-old central defender if Fiorentina continue to be in contention for a European competition spot by January. The club would not want to lose their star and will want to keep him until the end of the season, once they achieved their objectives.
On the other hand, though, always according to Milannews.it, Andrea Christensen, Chelsea's Dane 25-year-old defender, has a contract expiring at the end of the season. AC Milan will try to sign him early in January instead of waiting till June by paying a small compensation fee to the Blues.
